What Data We Collect

Journal Entries

Your journal entries, tags, mentions, attachments, and metadata are stored in LogPad's app storage using Apple's Core Data framework. When iCloud is available for LogPad, entries may sync through Apple's CloudKit infrastructure to your personal iCloud account.

LogPad may use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to understand crashes, reliability issues, and general app usage. These services are not used to collect your journal text, search queries, exported files, or attachment contents.

How LogPad Features Work Privately

AI Semantic Search

Semantic search uses Apple's on-device Natural Language framework where supported:

Smart Folders

Smart folder filters are evaluated locally on your device. No folder data or filter criteria is sent to our servers.

Export

When you export your journal (PDF, Markdown, or Plain Text), the file is generated locally on your device and shared using iOS's native share sheet. We never see the exported content.

Widgets

Widgets display your entries using data available to LogPad on your device. Widget content is not sent to a LogPad server.

Children's Privacy

LogPad is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Journal content is stored in the app and may sync through Apple's iCloud infrastructure when available.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of LogPad after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
